The workshop will take place on the beautiful campus of the Virginia Theological Seminary, Alexandria, Virginia - approximately twenty minutes from downtown Washington, DC.  Lunch and dinner will be available at the Seminary.

Washington Suites Hotel

Housing is available at the Washington Suites Hotel at a special conference rate. The rooms are suite style and  range in size from studio to two bedrooms/two baths. All rooms are complete with queen or king size bed(s), kitchen, living area with queen sleeper sofa, and work center with free high speed internet access. Breakfast is included. There is also a business center with computers, an outdoor pool, a fitness center and a restaurant with lounge. There is free shuttle transportation to and from the workshop. You have the choice of sharing a room (and the cost) with one or more friends. Fees are per room this year, not per individual. ROOMS MUST BE BOOKED DIRECTLY THROUGH THE HOTEL.

Christ Church, Old Town Alexandria

The pre-workshop will begin 30th June at historic Christ Church in Old Town Alexandria, and the main workshop finishes 6th July with a sung morning service here. Christ Church was the first Episcopal Church in Alexandria and has played an important role in the life of the city since its completion by John Carlyle in 1773. The church was designed by James Wren in the colonial Georgian style. George Washington and Robert E. Lee were regular worshippers. Other prominent persons have worshipped here, including many U.S. presidents.

Opportunities for recreation and sightseeing off-campus before and after the workshop are numerous. In addition to world-class museums, monuments, shopping and dining in Washington, DC, Alexandria is close to northern Virginia’s wineries, hikes in the Appalachian mountains, and the picturesque coastline of the Chesapeake Bay. It may be possible to arrange for an extra night’s accommodation at the Washington Suites Hotel at the discounted rate before or after the workshop. Please contact the hotel for availability.
